About David Epstein
David Epstein was born in Charleston, South Carolina in 1957. Mr. Epstein, whose focus is on real estate, secured financing, and general corporate law, joined Elkins, P.L.C. in 1992.

While attending Tulane Law School, Mr. Epstein was a member of the Board of Editors of The Maritime Lawyer, serving as the Managing Editor in his third year.

Mr. Epstein has been involved in a number of high profile real estate and corporate ventures; he served on the legal team for the 1984 World’s Fair and helped represent a major national retail developer during the development of the Riverwalk shopping center located on the Mississippi River in downtown New Orleans. Additionally, Mr. Epstein worked on many of the most significant developments in the Historic Warehouse District in New Orleans.

With regard to real estate and corporate finance matters, Mr. Epstein has a wide range of experience, including the rendering of advice in connection with the liquidation of a venture capital fund and a “going-private” transaction for a local investment company registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940. Further, Mr. Epstein has experience in the preparation of private placement memoranda and registered securities offerings, and has been active in structuring low-income housing tax credit transactions and industrial revenue bond and multi-family housing revenue bond financings.
