About Stacy C. Wheat
Stacy C. Wheat was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. Mrs. Wheat, whose focus is on real estate transactions, joined Elkins, P.L.C. in 2007.

While at Loyola Law School, Mrs. Wheat was on Law Review and received the American Jurisprudence Award for Contract and Property Law.

Prior to joining Elkins, P.L.C., Mrs. Wheat ‘s practice was focused on civil litigation for the Louisiana branch of a National Bankruptcy and Foreclosure firm. Mrs. Wheat has litigated matters in both federal and state court on issues relating to contracts, lending and real estate disputes. Mrs. Wheat has represented various major lenders, individuals and investors in all aspects of real estate including acquisition and sale of properties, successions and formation of entities. She has also represented a National Title Company regarding curative title issues.

As a licensed title agent of First American Title Insurance Company and Stewart Title Guaranty Company, Mrs. Wheat has experience in the examination of real estate titles and provides title insurance services through the firm’s title insurance agency, St. Charles Title Corporation.

She has lectured on the subjects of Creditor’s Rights in Bankruptcy and Foreclosure in Louisiana.
