Preserving the Past for the Future
Quick Facts

• Non-profit accepting façade donations for tax advantage
• Represents PRC on most of its 95 accepted façade donations

The Preservation Resource Center of New Orleans (PRC) is a private, not-for-profit organization attracting national accolades. The PRC is not only responsible for educating the public about the historic architectural gems located in the City of New Orleans, but accepts façade donations of qualified properties to guaranty their beauty into the next century.

The PRC's façade servitude program makes it possible for owners of architecturally significant New Orleans buildings to gain a federal tax advantage by granting the PRC the right in perpetuity to regulate any changes made to the building's exterior. Elkins, P.L.C. represents the PRC on most accepted façade donations. The PRC currently has an inventory of over 95 façade donations throughout the City of New Orleans. The façade donation to the PRC is considered a charitable contribution and is therefore eligible to become a deduction on the donor's federal income tax return.

Some of the façades that have been donated with the help of Elkins, P.L.C. are the Ritz- Carlton Hotel at 921 Canal Street, International House Hotel at 221 Camp Street, 416 Common Condominiums, Cotton Mill Building at 1050 Constance Street, 909 Lafayette Condominiums, Civic Theater at 525 Baronne Street and The Orphanage Apartments at 3000 Magazine Street.
